5 Days Rwenzori Mountains Safari

Your Adventure Volunteers begins with a pick-up from either Kampala or Entebbe. You will drive through Uganda’s scenic countryside, enjoying the lush landscapes and charming villages along the way, before arriving in Kasese, the gateway to the Rwenzori Mountains. In the evening, you will settle into your lodge or campsite for an overnight stay, preparing for the adventure ahead under the guidance of Adventure Volunteers.

On 5 Days Rwenzori Mountains

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters where your Adventure Volunteers guide will meet you. The day will begin with a hike along the lower forest trails, where you can spot rare primates, colorful birds, and a variety of unique plant species. You will continue to Mutunda Base Camp, where you will spend the night camping amidst the forest, enjoying an immersive nature experience coordinated by Adventure Volunteers.

Day three is dedicated to a full day of trekking through the spectacular Rwenzori landscapes with Adventure Volunteers ensuring a safe and informative experience. Along the way, you will encounter stunning waterfalls, glacial streams, and the iconic giant lobelia plants. Guided photography and birdwatching opportunities are available for enthusiasts. In the evening, you will return to your mountain lodge or campsite for an overnight stay.

Explore Higher

On the fourth day, Adventure Volunteers offer an optional challenging hike to higher altitudes, providing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. You will visit scenic landmarks such as Nyamwamba Waterfalls and the Sine Hut area, before descending back to base camp or lodge in the afternoon. The day also includes a cultural visit to the nearby Bakonzo communities, offering insights into the local traditions and way of life.

On the final day of your safari with Adventure Volunteers, you will begin an early morning drive back to Kampala or Entebbe. Along the way, there will be opportunities to stop for scenic photos and refreshments, capturing the last moments of your Rwenzori adventure. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, concluding a memorable 5-day journey organized by Adventure Volunteers.
